The Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College seek applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor studying the broad area of host-microbe interactions. The successful candidate will join our collegial, inclusive, and collaborative scientific community with strengths in immunology and the biology of bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic diseases. The candidate must use contemporary approaches to address important fundamental questions related to the interplay between health- or disease-relevant microbes (bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites or symbionts) and host cells, tissues, transmission vectors and/or the immune system. They will be expected to initiate and establish a robust research program that will attract extramural funding, provide research training for graduate, undergraduate and medical students, and teach in classroom settings at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.

A competitive start-up package and access to state-of-the-art research facilities will be provided. Faculty members in the Microbiology and Immunology Department are members of the Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate program, and have the opportunity to be a member of other graduate programs such as the Integrative Neuroscience or Quantitative Biomedical Sciences programs. Faculty can also participate in NIH supported training grant programs in immunology, host-microbe interactions, quantitative biomedical sciences and cystic fibrosis.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D., MD or equivalent degree and have relevant postdoctoral research experience.
