2 Fixed-Term, Full-time Postdoctoral Positions : Position Summary – The research associated with these two postdoctoral positions is aimed at investigating various aspects of the molecular biology and functional genomics of bifidobacteria as a model human gut commensal. In particular, aspects of dietary and host-derived carbohydrate metabolism of bifidobacteria and microbe-host interactions are of interest. The ideal candidate for this post will have undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology or a related biological science discipline and/or possess advance bioinformatics skills pertaining to ‘omics’ data, such as comparative genomics, metagenomics, transcriptomics and/or metabolomics, ideally in the context of gut microbiota or other complex microbial consortia. Experience with animal (murine) models is desirable. Experience, expertise and skills should be supported by a corresponding publication track record or other means of knowledge transfer.
