MDTP students – You are why this graduate program exists. Your performance here and in your future careers are the basis of the program’s quality and reputation. Your participation and efforts are critical for program governance, activities, and recruitment of outstanding new students to follow in your footsteps.
You have an impact beyond your education and the graduate program.
You are a force for change in the University of Wisconsin, the core departments of Bacteriology and Medical Microbiology & Immunology, and the labs of faculty who are your thesis advisors, committee members, and seminar audience members. For example, the initiation and development of the Microbial Science Building to house research and instructional space for Bacteriology, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, and Food Research Institute were intertwined with the formation and growth of the interdepartmental MDTP when the Bact and MMI departmental programs merged.
Program faculty and staff appreciate and applaud your research, scientific career development, and contributions to making MDTP the outstanding program that it is.
The MDTP recognizes that students have rich, full lives outside of their academic work. We stand in support of students who serve as caregivers during their time in MDTP, and are committed to providing the accommodations necessary to ensure that all students can further their academic careers while maintaining their family obligations.
Always feel free to provide feedback and suggestions, via student representatives on program committees or directly to program faculty and staff. The program likes to be good, and would like to be even better!
