The Yildiz Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Cruz, invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar to investigate the mechanisms, regulation, and consequences of bacterial biofilm formation using Vibrio cholerae. The laboratory integrates bacterial genetics, biochemistry, signal transduction, functional genomics, and quantitative imaging to define how regulatory networks control biofilm development and associated phenotypes. The successful candidate will lead an independent project in a collaborative, rigorous research environment.Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field and have a strong background in bacterial genetics and molecular biology, with evidence of research productivity. Experience with functional genomics and/or biochemical or imaging-based approaches is preferred. Salary follows the University of California Postdoctoral Scholar salary scale at the applicable experience level. Postdoctoral scholars are eligible for comprehensive UC benefits.Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, and contact information for three references to: fyildiz@ucsc.edu.
